Apple updates Remote Desktop

Today Apple as released an update for its remote administration application Remote Desktop. Both Client and Admin components are updated to version 3.1 with respective weights of 2.5MB and 28MB.

These updates bring several improvements and bug fixes in all areas of features and is available as a universal binary, running on both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.

Apple working on AMD laptop?

Although Apple initiated and now has finished its transition to the x86 architecture hands in hands with Intel, ignoring AMD's efforts and successes in the processors market so far, a report is now claiming that Apple might be developing an AMD laptop, probably due for 2007.

Apple announced earlier today that six major airlines have agreed to offer iPod integration in their planes by mid-2007. But the French airline Air France now denies Apple's press release claims.

Microsoft launches the Zune

After months of buzz and rumours, Microsoft launched today it's very anticipated digital music player, the Zune, which is considered as an "iPod-killer".

The Zune comes in three colors provides similar specs and pricing to the entry-level video-enabled iPod. It has a 30GB hard drive, can play music and videos but also offers some features not available on the iPod, such as Wifi and larger widescreen display.

Readers noticed that Apple has added localized version of its Get-A-Mac ads on it's Japanese web site. The Japanese ads are exact remakes of the original US versions but are shot with local actors.

Intel-Macs Firmware, X11, RAW Support updates

Apple has updated X11 to version 1.1.2. The update weights 51.MB and brings the following enhancements:

New version of XCode available

Apple has made available a new version of XCode to registered ADC (Apple Developer Connection) members. Version 2.4.1.
