Briefly: LED displays on the MacBook, Coldplay iTunes ad, Ballmer egged

Here is a brief news and rumours catch-up for this week.

The Macbook to get LED display

Citing the Chinese newspaper Economic Daily News, Engadget reports that Apple will put LED-backlit displays in it's next generation of MacBooks. The technology is already used on the MacBook Pro lineup and brings better colors and brightness, consumes less and is way greener than traditional neon-lit TFT displays.

Apple has posted a new ad featuring Coldplay on "Viva la vida" track which is part of the group's forthcoming album and is exclusively available on iTunes.

This week Apple also posted a longer version of its "Sad Song" Get-A-Mac ad.
