The iPhone comes to Austria
In an unexpected move, T-Mobile and Apple announced today that it will start selling the iPhone in Austria as soon as this Friday.
Apple's both 8GB and 16GB iPhones will start selling in the European country for respectively 399€ and 499€, or the same price as in France and Germany.
T-Mobiles' iPhone subscription plans are quite different than in other European countries though. They offer 1000 minutes of voice communication (you read well, 1000 minutes), 3GB of data (you can call it unlimited) but no SMS for only 39€ and even more voice and 1000 SMS for 55€.
The iPhone is currently available in France with Orange, in Germany with T-Mobile, in the UK with O2 and is coming in Ireland on Friday as well.
Apple has also been told to be in talks with operators in Belgium, Italy and China.
More information on T-Mobile's plans is available on this dedicated web site.
