Next iPod nano photo.psd (UPDATE)

UPDATE: 9to5mac posted a poll, while Gizmodo is as confused as us.

9to5Mac claims to have obtained photos showing the forthcoming iPod nano line-up. But there's something wrong with the picture they posted on their web site.

Let's first remind you some facts, 9to5mac is a newcomer in the Mac rumours scene and was recently accurate on predicting some things like Aluminium iMacs or the recent August 7 event date. For that reason the site's reports are usually easily spreading through the Internet and MacScoop has also recently started mentioning its reports.

Since recently, the site is also consistently claiming that new iPod nanos are coming in new colours and with a quite modified form factor, offering a screen that takes half of its size.

And now, they claim to have a photo of the next iPod nano line-up, but the photo is a bit suspicious.

Let's credit the 9to5mac reader "DonaldHawaii" who first noticed the file extension with his cat eyes.

Notice the file name on the top, oups...., what? "nano flower.psd"? Isn't it a Photoshop extension? The best tool for making fakes, right?

The site removed the picture a few hours later, on Apple legal calls, they say.

Ok, we don't know, as we and some other sites like MacRumors noted, these guys have had some accurate reports in the recent past but, well for this one, we're a bit sceptic, aren't you?

Actually, if by miracle this thing is true, we swear that we will relate 9to5mac's stories very often in the future, if it's not the case, well guys, it was a good try, we won't hate you for that :).

But this sounds like a "too easy to smash rumour". What makes us really wonder is... Why would they leave this file name on the picture? We don't know what to think!
